Growing empathy for a peaceful world

A Quote from Robin Grille that is worth repeating

From the Preface, p xvii

“Our understanding of early childhood development has grown so rapidly in recent years that we can now say the following with unprecedented confidence: The human brain and heart that are met primarily with empathy in the critical early years cannot and will not grow to choose a violent or selfish life.”

Tathra, I am so pleased that you have been inspired by the message of this book and see its importance. As you know the creation of the EF is inspired by the truth Parenting for a Peaceful World reveals. I look forward to working with you to bring this knowledge and understanding to more and more people in whatever creative ways we can come up with. It is so valuable that you are conscious of the responsibility of all of us for future generations and that you are willing to take it on. It goes far beyond taking care of our own biological children. The many people today who care deeply about sustainability and social justice who choose not to have their own children are a key part of this work. Awakening their understanding and revealing their priceless ( and enjoyable) role in the nurturing of emotionally healthy new generations is vital.

I am SO loving this book! I've only got a few chapters left and am starting to feel like this is one of the most important books of our time. If you haven't read it i HIGHLY encourage you to do so. It is the impetus for the Empathy Foundation, and an incredible source for understanding our world, our selves, in terms of how children are treated and how this shapes society. Immensely fascinating and SO important for us to understand how to create a peaceful world through our own parenting and healing.

I do not have my own children but i feel deeply responsible for the future generations and am passionate about ways to create peace with earth and each other. This book, is simply phenomenal and vitally important at this time in history.
