How beautiful it is when a new child is born! So full of hope, potential and most importantly love.
So it is with the Empathy Foundation.
About 9 months ago Alice Aird conceived an idea of wanting to help humanity to bring about a socially and ecologically sustainable, kind and loving society. She called this idea the Empathy Project and began to share it with others. From this first tentative seed, with lots of love, care and nurturing, the Empathy Foundation has now been born. And like all newborns, it is filled with hope, potential and most importantly, love.
In addition to the birth mother, Alice, The Empathy Foundation currently has three allo-parents, Beth Jane and Rita who are equally awed and inspired by this new being.
We can see its amazing potential and we feel a huge commitmment to seeing the Empathy Foundation grow and mature into adulthood over coming the years. As with all new parents, we have no idea how exactly it will turn out, but we do know that with all our love, empathy and attention the Empathy Foundation cannot help but grow to fullfill its true potential.
Right now we are doing all the basics … getting it registered, developing the draft charter for circulation and feedback, and inviting others who might be interested in visiting, connecting, helping a little or becoming deeply involved with this Foundation, to come and join us in these exciting early days.
Remember the African saying that it takes the whole tribe to bring up the child. Well, we are looking for the Empathy Foundation’s “tribe”. Come and join us!
We are seeking team members who are inspired by the Empathy Foundation vision and would be interested to donate their time and expertise in any way they see they can.
One potential of the Empathy Foundation is to become a first class online hub for resources related to empathy. As this very new network site shows, people are already being inspired to send their thoughts and references about empathy. We are seeking team members who are inspired by the Empathy Foundation vision and would be interested to donate their time and expertise to setting up the information systems and the administration of the project.
Come join us in welcoming and celebrating the Birth of the Empathy Foundation.
